Featured in A German Christmas Journal
Through the centuries garlic has been used as a medicinal agent, an aphrodisiac, and as a culinary addition. Garlic was fed to workers constructing the Great Pyramid at Giza. Ancient Roman warriors ate garlic before heading to war as it was thought to make them courageous. It has also been suggested that garlic would cure the common cold, high blood pressure, and high fevers, among other ailments. Many a good cook's kitchen has several cloves of garlic hanging from a door or wall. Garlic is an important ingredient in almost every beef, fish or chicken dish, giving each entree a culinary kick. A symbol of good health and the spice of life, this ornament adds a special dash of magic to any tree.
